Pros
- Given my data it's a trustworthy scientifc approach and lab amongst many dubious bio age providers.
- With the epigenetic age you get 2 additional genetic test results: APOE & MTHFR (turned out more interesting for me)
- Bottomline: not sure I'll repeat it often, but it was worth it once for sure

Cons
- It took 2 months to process
- It's quite expensive given the information value (a general problem with epigenetic bio age tests)
- the 29-page report is a mix of overwhelming scientific lingo and recommendation banalities (more exercise, less stress, better nutrition...)

Pros
The "supplement consumption experience" is nice. The whole wrapping & packaging appears high quality and "stylish". I give 3 points given that some scientific studies point into the direction that the ingredients here can lead to better sleep.
Cons
To be fair: I never managed to A/B test several weeks sleeping with the supplement and then several weeks without (not to mention I never tried this in a "blind" test ;). So I don't know if there could be a positive effect on me. Either way, I cannot report it. My general impression is that my sleep quality mostly depends on food-intake, temperature & darkness and general stress aka kids (therefore also how much I slept the night before)...

Pros
Great ecosystem integration as an Apple user generally (music, calls, payment...). Intuitive user experience (actually much better than Garmin).
Cons
I lost my watch while surfing (I assume that my hand hit the board hard when I crashed releasing the watch in some way). Bottomline: Apple's "standard sports wristband" didn't do its job. This was the major reason I switched to Garmin.

Pros
Minimalistic design. Good hardware quality. Multi-user detection.
Cons
Syncing doesn't always work. Not sure if the device "loses" the Wifi-connection, but I need to restart it every other month. I really don't need to see how the weather will be (although my sons love it) and I don't trust any other metric besides weight.

Pros
Good macros despite being vegan (and without having to involve soy - the protein here is lentils and peas). The taste is ok for a microwavable stew.
Cons
Having lived in India the expectations were maybe too enormous. It's far away from a real dal. It's too bland - it could carry a lot more spice (and heat).

Pros
It tastes a bit like peanuts ;) It's relatively high in protein compared to the other options.
Cons
It doesn't look very appealing (don't be mislead by the product pic - it doesn't come with chopped whole peanuts and cilantro on top). It doesn't smell very appealing (but it will taste better than this). The soy shreds can be an issue for those sensitive (personally, I can eat tons of tofu or fresh soy beans, but I get heartburn from shreds).

- reasonable price
- microwavable
- prep time under 3 min
- roughly meeting my macros
- not letting me crash in the afternoon
- high real protein

Basis-Check

Pros
As this is the consumer-facing service of one of the largest medical lab chains in Germany, 99.9% of their business today is medical practices (and smaller hospitals). I would assume that this results in the highest possible lab standard and process quality (contrary to some DIY dry blood test brands online where you don't know if the co-operating lab is accredited and good). Secondly, I can ask for a huge variety of blood markers to be tested. Some consumer blood lab services such as InsideTracker or Aware are limited here).
Cons
The overall user experience is not very consumer-focussed. While they do have an online booking tool for your blood draw, the blood draw itself happens inside their lab. It's professional, but not comparable to the atmosphere you get at Aware.app.
Also you don't get a "digital dashboard" for your results - only another pdf.

Pros
Great experience doing the blood draws. Showroom atmosphere (not a sterile-looking practice or lab). I never had to wait for even 1 minute. Super friendly staff. And you get a cute plaster and a drink and snack when you leave. To be fair it's easier for me since I don't live far away from the Berlin location. The app is easy to use and looks great.
Cons
Right now (Nov24) you cannot upload your old blood lab pdfs to integrate them. Also you cannot pick individual markers like Lp(a), only combined packages like "Heart health" so I cannot get everything tested and need to go to an additional lab. (Aware is slightly cheaper though)
Goal
Regular blood work and visualised blood marker graphs to see trends.

HealthCaters

Pros
It's a very cost-effective and low-barrier way to get a quick 360-overview of your major vitals. I tested it inside a gym and it only took about 10 minutes with immediate results inside a well-designed mobile app. Since all DIY testing devices are integrated into a portable box this is perfect for mass-testing larger groups of people (in the office, at school etc.).
Cons
Since distribution is mostly via employers you will not easily find a location where you can test as a consumer (unless you live in Berlin or Amsterdam...). Also the focus here is to get a good, but basic health assessment for "average people". If you're a health nerd or biohacker you will likely do regular blood tests and medical checkups that go much deeper - in this case you won't get much additional information.
Goal
To get a quick 360 overview of my current health status without a blood draw, without going to a doctor, without waiting for lab results.

Pros
I used the sensor twice so far. Best value-for-money option in my opinion to order the sensor directly from Abbott for roughly € 70. From all I've seen and heard you don't need the fancy subscriptions from Levels etc. - they use the same sensor. I hardly felt it even while sleeping or working out. I didn't use any additional patch to fix it and it held its position well for the 2 weeks with daily showers and some swimming.
Cons
You apply the sensor via an applicator device. This device sits inside a protective case. My first applicator wouldn't come out of the case and I had to use quite some force that eventually damaged the applicator. (I tried to apply the sensor without it -don't try, the filament will not pierce the skin unless it hits in a perfect 90 degree angle which is hard to do without the applicator). Bottomline, I called customer service and they immediately sent me a new one without issues.
The mobile app is super basic. You can tell it's made for diabetics where all analysis is done by professional doctors and nutritionists. So you get data, but zero guidance (e.g. on testing protocols).

InsideTracker

Pros
Outside the US I can only use the InsideTracker Membership where I upload my German lab report pdfs. As far as I checked the uploads were all correctly done (by a combination of a parsing algorithm and an actual human). InsideTracker then allows me to easily see the development of all bloodmarkers in a table, list or category view. I can quickly see positive and negative trends. Also, I can see where I'm just inside a "normal" reference range, but not "optimised". Given their growing database I also appreciate this feature: "You’re part of the 7% of males aged 39-41 who have ApoB between 53.6-66.9 mg/dL (The population data presented is based on the InsideTracker customer data repository.)"
Cons
It's $ 149 for pretty data visualization. I tried to connect my wearable data (Garmin), but that failed. Also, I would appreciate a completely open format where any possible biomarker is uploaded. As of now only a specific set (around 50) of bloodmarkers is displayed and the rest ignored which almost forces me to continue with my gSheet.
Goal
Seeing trends in my bloodmarkers over the years.

Pros
Unlike most doctors - even those working in "prevention" - Ali walks the talk. He looks fit and he is fit which adds much credibility to his training & nutrition advice. (adding to the fact that he's a team doc for a GT racing team). Also unlike most doctors, Ali likes to spend time on explaining diagnostic outcomes and shaping therapies at length. I appreciate his 12 years of experience as a specialist for cardiology & internal medicine.
Cons
Since I live in Berlin I cannot easily visit PreventicsOne physically. For some 'objective' diagnostics this isn't a big deal (like labs, MRIs etc.). Especially for sonography I need to rely on other doctors' work and can only forward their analysis (though that's good in a way as it introduces a four-eye-principle).
Goal
Find an experienced doctor that is 100 % focussed on prevention & healthspan and willing to work remotely.
