I am a medical doctor who quit traditional healthcare to build The Human Dash, a program that reverses the impact of stress on the body. I write like my life depends on it, and host a live show in SF called The Human Recovery Lab. Named one of HIMSS Future 50 in Innovation, and winner of the California Healthcare Foundation Innovation challenge.

My Routines

After many years of doing strict long morning and evening routines, I realized they were pushing my cortisol and inflammation and so instead I do this now which is much more natural: I wake up without an alarm usually around 7.30 or 8. I have my calendar blocked until 10 am. I do some Qi Gong stretching and breathwork, then I make a light breakfast usually eggs and avodado toast, and a french press of coffee in prepartion for a writing session between 9-10am. I start my work routine based on my day and then either go to the gym or for a long walk towards the end of my day around 6 or 7 pm. I try to either share dinner and a a post meal walk with a friend or a roommate and then read myself to sleep in preparation for the next day. Sometimes I don't do any of this, because I am a faulty human. I accept myself regardless of my routines, and that is the best habit there is.
