Fourth Frontier X2 - anyone using?
Just curious if anyone is using the Fourth Frontier X2. I bought one primarily for the ECG function - In some of my very hard (and hot and sweaty) treadmill runs, I saw some sharp HR spikes. But as a fitness tracker or workout tool, I'm not very impressed yet. FIrst off - nothing weird in the ECG yet, so that's good. But it's giving me very low VO2 max values compared to a stress test, my one successful Calibre Bio workout, and compared to the estimated VO2 max that my Fenix 7 gives (which is pretty close to the Calibre and the stress test). And the HRV numbers seem meaningless (to my knowledge). Where Morpheus gives me an average HRV near 70, and my Fenix 7 gives me mid-30s, the X2 gives me 9(!). The HR zones seem very general and much lower than I know them to be (so I keep changing my listed max HR to adjust their zones). So...the ECG function may still have value, but I do not think I'll continue using it as a workout tool. I hoped it would "adapt" to my results the way the Morpheus does, but this doesn't seem to be the case. So far - maybe 5 workouts with it - 2 moderate treadmill runs and 2 or 3 medium intensity bike rides. I find it interesting that it does not ask anything about perceived effort, but it does give a "max" VO2, not a peak VO2, which puzzles me. It feels more to me that it's using generalizations based on a typical person my age.
Again, just curious if anyone else has tried it.
