Magnesium Bisglycinate: Buffered vs. Chelated

I’ve been looking for a new magnesium supplement and came across something I’d never heard before.

Apparently, there’s a difference between Magnesium Bisglycinate and Magnesium Bisglycinate Chelate.

This also relates to something @simon asked recently about how much we can really trust AI like ChatGPT for advice.

ChatGPT for Health & Science Questions: Reliable or Not?

Because that’s where I first read about the difference, but I had never seen this mentioned anywhere else before.

I’ve attached a comparison table that breaks it down.

Curious to hear your take:

Have you come across this before, and is this actually something to look out for?

Or did GPT just overcomplicate things?

My GPT tells me, it's just marketing :) Magnesium Bisglycinate is a Chelate! Maybe someone could sell a mixture of Magnesium Oxide with Glycine and call it Magnesium Glycinate, but I never recognized anything like that ...
