Red Light Toothbrush

Recently Bon Charge released new NIR+Sonic toothbrush.

What is your take on RLT for mouth/teeth care ?

NIR can heat up tooth fillings , plus sonic effect can potentially evict it.

How about the influence on eyes? As for NIR, we’re supposed to use protective glasses, right?

Could help with gum health. But from a product perspective it will be hard to find a good mix between enough power for the light, size and battery life. And will it work with toothpaste on it? How are you affiliated with Bon Charge?

Red and near-infrared light therapy (RLT/NIR) for oral care is an interesting frontier - studies suggest it can stimulate gum healing, reduce inflammation, and support circulation. However, it’s still experimental for teeth themselves. You’re right that NIR can generate heat, and metallic fillings or implants may absorb it unevenly, which could cause micro-heating or loosening over time, especially when combined with sonic vibration.

Its sound a bit dubious in my opinion, with a normal full body red light devices you get like 5min or more of light on an area. With 2 min brushing you are moving all the time, therefore each position only gets a few seconds of light. There are not many dental/ oral red light studies, the one i saw used a light to focus on one position for 3 minutes.
