Smart alarm features in wearables – game changer?

4 months ago (edited)

Whoop is one of the few wearables I’ve found without a display that offers a smart wake-up function. It can wake you when you’ve reached your sleep goal or during a light sleep phase within a set time window.

Do you use a smart wake-up feature and actually find it helpful?

Would a feature like this influence your decision when choosing a new wearable, or is it more of a nice-to-have?

Which wearables do you know that offer this feature?

@tino-wenderoth i only use it as a wake-up alarm clock on a specific time. In all other cases I have a 2-year old human mini alarm clock that goes off every morning before me being 100% ;) Gotta say though, that the vibrating alarm works well if you sleep in one bed with your partner because its less disruptive than a wake-up late or normal sound alarm.

While an 8sleep is not a wearable, the vibration alarm has been a game changer for me. My wife and I wake up at different times so being able to have a reliable alarm system without waking up my partner is amazing. Beyond the vibration, it also heats the bed up so it's more of a gentle nudge versus an aggressive noise that makes you question all of your life decisions.
